John R. White has lived in Italy, Canada, Texas, Oklahoma and now resides in Toledo, Ohio with his lovely wife Mary, and feline overlord Tesla.
John is a USAF veteran, and has served as Art Director for the Honor Flight Network, and Honor Flight Northwest Ohio.
John majored in Philosophy and Religion and frequently blogs and debates on the need for respect for understanding and restraint on conflicts between religion and social issues.
John also found it more enjoyable to write then to find a job as a philosophy major.
John was a frequent sight at Midwestern steampunk Conventions and panels, including Teslacon, Steampunk Symposium, Steamtopia and World Steam Expo. John is now branching into hard science fiction, fantasy, and social commentary.
Tales of the Airship Neverland earned high reviews and multiple nominations in steampunk writing awards.
MENTAL HEALTH ADVOCATE:
John was diagnosed with a bipolar II disorder in 1995. He has frequently talked and blogged about the issue. It is John's hope to use his struggles to bring light to the great things that bipolar have done and will do.

John is most well known for his 'Tales of the Airship Neverland," Which is a Steampunk Meta-fiction retelling of J.M. Barrie’s "Peter and Wendy."
Airship Neverland takes place in an alternate reality, in a universe very similar to ours, but where the Pirate Captain James ‘Hook’ Hooker has overthrown the kingdom of Bryton, forcing Admiral Windy Darling to hide the child prince Peter in hopes of retrieving him years later. With the aid of her Compatriots including Thomas, a bewitched half-man/half Crocodile, Windy’s sister-in-law Pope Joan Darling™, and the flighty genius Angela "Tinker" Bell™, The Neverland must battle lovesick Pirate suitors, scheming Cossack princess, and the bloodthirsty ‘Mermaids’!
